The Saskatchewan Abilities Council believes every individual, regardless of ability, deserves the opportunity to realize his or her potential. We're working to fulfill that promise. Your donation will help us by supporting important programs and services.

The Saskatchewan Abilities Council is a not-for-profit, non-government agency which each year provides services to 30,000 children and adults with disabilities. Your donation today will make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities tomorrow. We encourage you to learn more about the work we do and consider supporting us with an on-line gift.

The Saskatchewan Abilities Council is a proud member of Easter Seals™ Canada. The financial support Easter Seals™ receives from individuals, organizations, services and business each year allows us to offer rehabilitation and recreational programs to children with disabilities in our province.

The first Canadian Easter Seals™ campaign was introduced to Albertans in 1945 by local Rotary Clubs. The response was so positive, the first national Easter Seals were issued in 1949. By 1967, the Easter "seal" was so well recognized, the organizations formally adopted the name Easter Seals™.

The introduction of the Easter Seal™ and its promotion during Easter is no accident. The connection to Easter is symbolic of new life and along with it, the rehabilitation of youngsters with disabilities bringing “new life” and activity physically, mentally and spiritually.

Each year in Saskatchewan 5,000 children and their families access Easter Seals™ programs and services provided the Saskatchewan Abilities Council.

The best known program is Camp Easter Seal. Each summer from June through August nearly 800 children and adults enjoy a week of activities and relaxation at our wheelchair accessible Manitou Beach camp site, near Watrous. For more details visit Camp Easter

Additional Easter Seals™ supported programs include Summer Fun and Adaptive Technology Services.

The Summer Fun program provides opportunities for children and youth to participate in activities they may not have experienced in the past and might otherwise not get to do. Children and youth with disabilities are often unable to participate in many recreational activities without an attendant. The Summer Fun program addresses this need by recruiting staff and volunteers who serve as attendants.

Adaptive Technology Services
Adaptive Technology Services is dedicated to applying electronics and computers to open the door to education and social opportunities for children with disabilities. The program provides assessment, consultation, installation, training and repair services for communication and environmental equipment.
