Vocational Rehabilitation Services

Any of us may need vocational rehabilitation. An injury might demand a career change, and new skills. A disability might make it hard to function in the workplace, or demand an innovative approach to doing your job. Whatever challenges you live with, if you can work, if you want to work, we can help get you working. Our services are arranged in four groups: Support Services, Training, Supported Employment and Employment Opportunities.

Support Services includes vocational evaluation and vocational coordination. This is where we help you find out where your skills and talents lie.

With this information, you can choose where to go next. Training is offered to get you ready for the workplace, including our Work Experience and Life Skills programs. We may also refer you to another agency like the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science & Technology to get the skills you need.

The Council has a solid reputation for linking employers with productive employees - people like you. We do this through our Supported Employment programs. We find jobs with employers. When you see one that works for you, we may provide a job coach to help you learn your new duties. Once you start working, we provide ongoing support to make sure things are going smoothly.

Finally, for some people, we are able to provide Employment Opportunities directly through work at our recycling centres. Recycling centres are operated by the Council in Saskatoon, Yorkton, and Swift Current.
