Supported
Employment
Once you have completed training and are ready to
enter the workforce, you are ready for our Supported Employment
program. You will work at an actual job for an employer and be
paid by them.
Supported Employment starts with the job developer,
who goes out to area businesses to find which businesses and organizations
have job openings. The job developer also helps the employer solve
problems that might be preventing them from filling a job. For
example, we might suggest some accessibility improvements that
would make it possible for a person with a disability to do the
job.
You might start work with a job coach at your side.
Your coach works with the employer to learn what needs to be done,
then helps you learn your job. Your coach also provides support
as you need it, for as long as you need it.
These supported employment services are provided
through Partners in Employment offices located in Moose Jaw, Saskatoon, Regina,
Swift
Current and Yorkton.
