A & C 2005Counsellor-In-Training Program

Thinking of a career in human services? Camp Easter Seal's Counsellor-In-Training (CIT) program may be just what you are looking for.

Designed for high school students from ages 16 and up, the CIT volunteer program gives you first hand skills and knowledge.

The program develops your communication skills and teaches you how to work with people. You will enhance your leadership skills, and learn how to organize your own time with others. Our CIT coordinator provides an instructional program, so you leave at the end of summer with practical training and work experience. Best of all, you will have made a positive impact in someone else's life.

Meeting the camper's daily needs is an important part of the counsellor's job. Students will learn most aspects of personal care.

We need people who like the outdoors, and who want to participate with our campers in their activities. You will learn the skills needed to be a counsellor while providing a week of fun and friendship. Check out our CIT Cover Letter for guidelines when applying.

Successful CIT grads receive a $500.00 honorarium at the end of the program, and are eligible for future employment.

Interested? You can either fill out the printable application form (PDF format), send it in, or fill in the online form, and submit it. You will also need to provide two completed copies of the CIT Reference Form (PDF format). Let's start building your future!
