Message from the Executive Director
As Executive Director, it is my pleasure to present the Saskatchewan Abilities Council’s 2011 Annual Report. The Council has enjoyed another successful year engaging clients, volunteers, governments, communities, businesses, donors, and many other stakeholders in meaningful ways. This Annual Report provides highlights from 2011 and is part of our ongoing commitment to being an accountable and transparent organization.
In 2011, we continued to provide vocational, rehabilitation, and recreational services throughout Saskatchewan. Whether it is through helping an individual find and keep the right job, implementing practices such as Lean, enjoying an outing on a warm summer’s day, fitting a prosthetic limb, or considering evaluation tools like social return on investment, invariably our focus is on clients.
I want to thank Board members for their leadership and commitment to the Council this past year; good governance is essential to the Council meeting its vision and mission in a responsible and sustainable manner. I want to thank staff members for their tremendous work and dedication in 2011; I am proud to be associated with such a talented team. Together, we have made a difference in the lives of thousands of Saskatchewan children and adults.
Please enjoy our 2011 Annual Report. I look forward to 2012 as there is great promise within the Council and, indeed, for children and adults with disabilities to enjoy full citizenship in Saskatchewan and Canada.
Ian Wilkinson, Executive Director
